“It was regrettable. That was kind of an exchange with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect finger,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”
