It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her debut and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
