Elevated Waist Measurement Ratio Elevates Cardiac Health Concerns
The study tracked over 2,700 participants in SΓ£o Paulo, Brazil to investigate how anthropometric data predicted cardiovascular risk in contrast with Body Mass Index.
Participants were about 48 years old on typical, and nearly two-thirds were female. The participants came from mixed backgrounds, but mainly Caucasian (57%), and included participants of multiple ethnic backgrounds, Black heritage, and Asian ethnicity.
